Sophia Aranda is a first-generation Cuban-Nicaraguan actor and writer who has performed in a diverse breadth of work from Shakespeare to Mac Wellman. After high school, she moved to New York City to pursue acting at NYU/Tisch in the Atlantic Theater Company training program. During her time there, she was awarded the Outstanding Achievement in Studio award and was selected to attend the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London with a focus on Classical text.

She is formerly a Bats company member with the Flea Theater and a founding member of the Fled. Throughout the pandemic, Sophia worked primarily in films such as Prometheus Bound, filmed in association with CyberTank and Iris Media Works. She also has a supporting role in the upcoming film, The Nine Dreams, featuring Lili Taylor.
