“My purpose is to defy outdated expectations and create authentic and profound work on and off stage. I aim to grow with the changing industry and continue learning how to serve my community with bold brushstrokes.”

At the age of 17, Sophia was accepted into NYU Tisch School of the Arts and soon after traveled to New York City to train with the Atlantic Acting School. In her Junior year of college, Sophia was accepted as one of twelve students to attend the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London for six months in the Shakespeare Studies Program where she was cast as Queen Margaret in their reimagining of Richard II as well as Isabel in Measure for Measure. Upon graduation from university, Sophia was presented with the Outstanding Achievement in Studio award- an honor given to only five students in each graduating class as well as the Founder’s Day Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement.

After graduating from NYU, Sophia auditioned to be a member of The Flea Theater’s resident acting company, The Bats, and was subsequently cast as a featured role in the world premier production of The Invention of Tragedy , written by Mac Wellman and Directed by Meghan Finn. In 2019 she earned her place in the Actor’s Equity Association after performing as a universal swing in The Riddle of the Trilobites at the New Victory Theater under the direction of Lee Sunday Evans where she understudied all six roles in the show, (and all 13 puppets),- giving her the opportunity to train with Pam Arciero of Sesame Street

Throughout the first year of the pandemic, Sophia worked on her first two films: Prometheus Bound, (produced by CyberTank in association with Iris Media), and The Nine Dreams featuring Lili Taylor, (currently in post-production).

As Sophia continues to grow as an artist she looks forward to writing more plays and films and delving into the world of producing!
